In the absence of a written response along with documents for substantiation on or before the prescribed due date, the ASCI Secretariat considered this complaint exparte. Claim, “India's No.1 spice brand” was not substantiated with verifiable comparative data of the market share by value/volume of the advertiser's spice brand versus other similar spice brands in India to prove that their spice brand is in leadership position (No.1). The claim was not backed by an independent third party validation. The claim is misleading by exaggeration. This advertisement is in contravention of Chapter I, 1.1 and 1.4 of the ASCI Code. This complaint was UPHELD by Secretariat.
