The ASCI had approached the advertiser for its response in addressing the grievances of the complainant and forwarded the details of the complaint, verbatim, to the advertiser with a request to respond to the same. The advertiser was offered an option to seek an Informal Resolution (IR) of the complaint by modifying or withdrawing the claims in the advertisement, or alternately to substantiate the claims with supporting data. The advertiser was also offered an opportunity for a telecon with the ASCI Secretariat, which they did not avail and submitted their response. As claim support data, the advertiser submitted the following documents – (1) Audit certificate for CL students who scored 99%iles in CAT 24, (2) Audit certificates for final selections for students in IIM A, B and FMS. The Consumer Complaints Council (CCC) viewed the Website advertisement (https://www.careerlauncher.com/cat-mba/) considered the complaint, and the advertiser’s response along with the claim support data. Claim – “520 99+ percentilers in CAT 2024” The CCC observed that the above results have been certified and verified by a Chartered Accountancy firm. The CCC discussed that the advertiser has submitted a CA certificate of April 2025, which outlines the audit methodology and validation process. The certificate states that the Chartered Accountant has examined the records provided by the advertiser and, based on this verification, has validated the list of 520 CLE students who scored a 99 percentile in the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM). The CCC also noted that the CA certificate includes an annexure detailing the particulars of these CLE students, such as their names, email addresses, User IDs, dates of birth, CAT registration numbers, and total percentiles. Claim – “Final selections in Top –Schools. 119 in IIM – Ahmedabad, 212 in IIM – Bengaluru and 107 in FMS”. The CCC observed that the results above have been certified and verified by a Chartered Accountancy firm. The CCC discussed that the advertiser submitted a CA certificate dated May 2025, which outlines the audit methodology and validation process. The certificate states that the Chartered Accountant examined the records provided by the advertiser and, based on this verification, validated the list of 119 CLE students selected for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) 2025-27 conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. The CCC also noted that the CA certificate includes an annexure detailing the particulars of these CLE students, such as their names, email addresses, User IDs, dates of birth, and CAT-IIM roll numbers. The CCC further discussed that the advertiser submitted another CA certificate, also dated May 2025, which states that the Chartered Accountant examined the records provided by the advertiser and, based on this verification, validated the list of 212 CLE students selected for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) 2025-27 conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. The certificate also includes an annexure with the details of these CLE students, such as their names, contact numbers, User IDs, dates of birth, and CAT-IIM roll numbers. Additionally, the CCC noted that the CA certificate of May 2025 also verifies a list of 107 CLE students selected for the Faculty of Management Studies (MBA) 2025-27 at the University of Delhi. The CA certificate includes an annexure with the particulars of these CLE students, including their names, email addresses, User IDs, dates of birth, and roll numbers. The CCC was further informed by the ASCI Secretariat that it had undertaken an additional procedure by telephonically inquiring with some of these students to verify their enrolment with the advertiser’s institute - CL Educate, and their selection by the IIM. Based on the advertiser’s response along with the supporting data provided, the CCC concluded that the claims, “520 99+ percentilers in CAT 2024”, and “Final selections in Top –Schools. 119 in IIM – Ahmedabad, 212 in IIM – Bengaluru and 107 in FMS”, were substantiated. The said claims are not in contravention of Chapter I of the ASCI Code. This complaint was NOT UPHELD.
